This course will delve into strategic and artful companion planting combinations, focusing on flowers. It will include veggie companions as well, but there will be flowers planted within each veggie combination, which is why I’ve chosen the name, Petal Partners.

This journey into the art and science of companion planting, emphasizes strategic flower and vegetable combinations that enhance visual appeal, promote soil & plant health, deter pests, and encourage biodiversity. Throughout 50+ detailed videos, participants will explore various themes ranging from vegetable and flower integration, to specialized garden designs for pollinators, to thematic gardens covering different growing scenarios and garden zones.
Each video will include a downloadable planting plan with specific plant variety suggestions, color scheme options, and planting information. You’ll discover a vast range of plant combinations, with over 100 different types of plants grouped in visually appealing and ecologically beneficial ways.
We’ll also go over seasonal, vertical, and thematic gardens – from spring spectaculars to autumn warmth, and from sun-lovers to shade dwellers. This course will cover a wide range of settings and purposes, including special sections on creating companion-planted cutting gardens, quaint cottage gardens, and lush perennial borders.

How long does the garden design course take to complete?
You can work at your own pace. Designing a garden is not a process that should be rushed. It requires a lot of thought and creativity. We recommend completing one module every 2 weeks so that there is plenty of time to do the homework and think through your design choices.
What if I have questions while taking the course? Is there additional support?
Yes. You can leave your questions in the community forum under the section titled "course" and they will be answered in a timely manner.
Will there be quizzes or tests with the course?
No
Will there be homework with the course?
There is some homework but it is optional.
Why would I want an annual membership if I can finish the course in a shorter time period?
The annual membership is for those who want to dive into gardening as a lifestlye and access all of our online courses. The garden design course was our first offering, and now we have the companion planting course going, but there will be new consecutive courses after this one. There will always be something new to learn. Additionally, there are many other reasons to stick around including our tutorials, interviews, community forum, meetups, events, wellness workshops, garden tours, and travel retreats. This is a garden club, not just a course, and we will examine all aspects of gardening on an ongoing basis.
Can I access the content if I cancel my membership?
No. You can only access the content with an active membership.
